Microbiome Tests
My gut flora since 2021, before and after four microbiome transfers. All reports as PDFs.
Updated: October 2026
I have had my gut microbiome tested regularly since 2021 to check how well my treatments are working and to be able to correct course in time. You can find background on the transplants and on the role of the gut in Parkinson's under Microbiome Transfer.
My Microbiome Transfers
- November 12, 2021, Leipzig: 200 ml by enema
- September 19 to October 10, 2022, IPPM-Klinik Slovakia: 10 × 20 ml by enema
- June 18, 2024, Thüringen-Kliniken Saalfeld, Prof. Dr. Peter C. Konturek: 350 ml
- May 4 to 20, 2026, Institut IM3 Wuppertal: capsules, 50 + 30 + 20
Capsules are now also offered at the Uniklinik Köln (University Hospital Cologne) and in Frankfurt.
Current Values (March 23, 2026)
- Diversity (Shannon index): 5.38, normal value above 4.6
- Dysbiosis rating: good
- Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes: 3.20, normal range 2.9 to 4.8
- Butyrate producers: 15.9, normal range 11 to 19, otherwise typically low in Parkinson's
- Neuroactive microbiota: positive
- Desulfovibrio, all three critical subgroups: not detectable
In February 2023 a microbiologist wrote to me about my butyrate values: "From a microbiological point of view, I would say: looks good."
