Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a spiritual leader from India who became known for the development and spread of Transcendental Meditation (TM) .
He was born on January 12, 1918 and died on February 5, 2008.
Maharishi was a disciple of Swami Brahmananda Saraswati and spread his teachings on meditation throughout the world. He founded the Transcendental Meditation program movement and used scientific and spiritual principles to promote the benefits of meditation.
In the 1950s, Maharishi began to spread his teachings internationally, traveling the world teaching Transcendental Meditation, which is based on simple, daily practices to promote mental health and well-being.
In addition to Transcendental Meditation, Maharishi also founded educational institutions such as Maharishi International University and Maharishi Ayurveda, which focus on promoting education, health and spirituality.
Maharishi and his teachings have attracted a considerable following, and Transcendental Meditation continues to be a popular practice for promoting relaxation, stress relief, and spiritual well-being.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi taught a set of principles based on his philosophy and understanding of Transcendental Meditation (TM). Here are some of his main teachings:
Transcendental Meditation (TM): His best known teaching was the Transcendental Meditation technique. This method involves sitting in silence ( 20 minutes - morning and evening ) and repeating a special mantra that is assigned to each practitioner individually. The goal is to achieve a state of deep relaxation that leads to the promotion of mental well-being, clarity and calm.
Stress Relief and Health: Maharishi emphasized the positive effects of Transcendental Meditation on health, claiming that the practice reduces stress and provides related health benefits. He also developed the concept of "Maharishi Ayurveda," which incorporates traditional Ayurvedic principles and healing methods to promote health and well-being.
Consciousness and spiritual growth: He taught that Transcendental Meditation not only serves as a means of relaxation, but also expands individual consciousness and promotes spiritual growth. Maharishi emphasized that regular practice helps to achieve a higher level of consciousness and deepens understanding of the self and the environment.
Peace and Harmony: Maharishi believed in creating peace and harmony on a global level through collective meditation. He founded "Maharishi's Global Country of World Peace" with the aim of promoting world peace through the collective practice of Transcendental Meditation.
Education: He founded educational institutions that followed a holistic approach that emphasized not only academic knowledge but also consciousness development and personal growth.
Maharishi's teachings were shaped by his belief in the transformative power of meditation, which not only promotes individual well-being but can also contribute to the creation of a more harmonious and peaceful world.
I was admitted to my Ayurveda treatment at "SOMA MED" in 4682 Geboltskirchen - Austria, in mid-November 2023.
